Participatory Poetics
The experience of participating in the group network and calling upon civic engagement in the community was ultimately a process of communication. As a main idea of this, of the most important questions in the consideration of participatory civics was how can the network be used to cultured community for public policy purposes? This is a question of how the individual can connect with the collective in various levels in the network platform. Through the EmerAgency , the new consultancy as the internet of the civic sphere, how do we seek engagement. In this engagement project alone, the work was to articulate the spectacle, how to represent the experiences in order to transform the real world into and network image and stir civic participation. In creating these online communities and acting on the individual and collective level. Engaging these network culture there ultimately is an underlying order of resistance. When dealing with a community saturated in messages and images they key to gaining civic participation, as with this projection, is instilling influential and thought out messages. Creativity becomes key in having user drive the network, through input, activity and behavior. In order to drive this there need to be assurance and recognition of the ties amongst the individual and the collective. This works to define the “good citizen” and the “slacktivism” in participatory civics. For this work specifically it becomes a matter of monitoring and observing the network while challenging common notions in order to break new ways of thinking. By promote this reflection of the network, as an individual and collective, the work than focuses on the engagement on the issue. Planting the seed, by putting something out there in the network culture, the hope becomes to circulate message and receive on feedback. In participatory culture this is issue specific and the feedback becoming the engagement of community to move forth with this. Ideas for future network participation, in my sight, comes to the manner of creating deeper connections not only with individual users but rather larger ideas. In the growing network it is important to keep up with growth and prompt for civic participation. Finding new ways to generate and express messages is ultimately what dries the culture to grow and pushes further engagement. Images, messges, remixes, video; building network connections in this culture becomes a basis for this participation platform.
