Art is an important way of communicating ideas and thought to audience members active in the network culture. Without words, art allows for personal receiving of the image and gaining of personal perspective. It allows for one to see mental illness in a new way by creating thought of what the message of the piece is sending.

  1. Mental Illness affects all. The famous actor Robin Williams, known for his role in Mrs. Doubtfire, is one of the faces who has battled this illness. The article below acknowledges his battle and presents the idea that mental illness is all around. This insightful piece gives light to this stigma an the need to bring connectedness.

For this post I felt it was important to build the connection of a prominent figure in media with the stigma. The recent passing of Robin Williams dealing with a mental illness was a strategic way to allude how this illness affects all. In our media culture presenting such idea stimulates the network culture to gain awareness of the world around them as news brings forth these situations.
